Yes. This is smell is a ‘personal opinion’ and I agree with you it might be troublesome for many juniors.

Regarding on the amount of articles I have written. I am not (only) an author. I’ve been working on software industry for more then 30 years and teaching at the university for 25 years.

But my CV is not important, nor my experience. These articles are for discussion and ideas exchange.

Many people feel attacked by the term “code smell” which is not mine and it is kind of clickbait.

Not all code smells are as bad. This is an innocent one, but had more exposition than more serious ones like Singletons, nulls, helpers or IFs which, IMHO, bring a lot of damage to our profession.
